Condo sales in Miami-Dade County were also impacted. Miami-Dade condo sales were hit with a 48% drop compared to April 2019. Overall, condo sales performed worse than single-family home sales.  Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty CEO Ron Shuffield gave his prediction to the Real Deal in March: April is going to be a month people are not going to like. You’re figuring you can walk into the courtroom and represent yourself. Hold on, there, Sparky. Just because you watched a rerun of Matlock at the bar last night doesn’t make you a lawyer. Nor does it qualify you to successfully keep you, your wife, and your kids from being tossed on the streets. Matter of fact, if you do go into court trying to represent yourself, there’s a good chance you and your family will be living in a refrigerator box under a freeway overpass. New York judges have no tolerance for Pro-Se litigants and will do everything they can to kick you out of a courtroom and make sure you don’t come back! The courts are not designed for the common man. They were desi So, you’ve been served with foreclosure papers? You’re figuring you can walk into the courtroom and represent yourself. COVID-19 Mortgage Forbearance Alert: Mortgage Servicers Busted Again!

Image
Mortgage Servicers Busted Reporting COVID-19 Mortgage Forbearance Agreements To Credit Reporting Agencies Mortgage servicers are at it again with the shady tactics. This time they are reporting COVID-19 mortgage forbearance agreements to the credit reporting agencies.  Mortgages in forbearance as a result of COVID-19 have to be reported as “current” on credit reports. That’s the law.  Section 4021  of the CARES Act says servicers  “shall report the credit obligation or account as current.” However, mortgage servicers have found a loophole. That loophole can make it difficult for people with mortgages in forbearance to get another home loan after the COVID-19 crisis is over. Homeowners who entered into a COVID-19 mortgage forbearance agreement could have their ability to refinance or buy a home impacted when the crisis is over. The CARES Act doesn’t mention the comments section of credit reports. This is the loophole servicers are exploiting. Mortgage servicers are placing

Health care heroes came from around the country to help fight the coronavirus outbreak in New York. Now Cuomo and the state of New York say these heroes will have to pay state income taxes. The taxes would also affect Samaritan’s Purse and other Christian aid organizations. They set up a temporary hospital in Central Park. Cuomo said: We’re not in a position to provide any subsidies right now because we have a $13 billion deficit. So there’s a lot of good things I’d like to do. If we get federal funding, we can do it. But it would be irresponsible for me to sit here looking at a $13 billion deficit and say I’m gonna spend more money.  The issue first arose when  Samaritan’s Purse  was setting up its emergency field hospital. The charity’s comptroller noticed that NYS la

Mac Properties To Tenants: PAY UP OR GET THE EFF OUT!

Image
Mac Properties Tells Tenants Affected By COVID-19, “PAY UP OR GET THE EFF OUT!” Mac Properties is using heavy-handed tactics in Chicago during the pandemic to ensure renters pay up. The company owned by Antheus Capital also got creative with doing evictions. The company decided to do themselves after the Cook County Sheriff stopped serving them on tenants. Mac Properties is one of the few landlords still proceeding with evictions. The property management arm of Antheus Capital owns 5,000 units across Chicago. Mac Properties is beginning to anger tenants by demanding they sign  nondisclosure agreements  before discussing rent-payment plans. Despite the pandemic, Mac has not granted rent forgiveness. Instead, it has outlined a policy that includes allowing residents to pursue  “a path to lease termination”  or to move into a cheaper unit. Court records show the company filed two eviction claims in recent weeks in addition to the nine it sent in March. The April evictions wer

No More HELOCs! Major Banks Stop HELOC Originations

Image
The 2nd Financial Crisis Of The 21st Century Begins! Chase And Wells Fargo Stop Originations Of HELOCs.  Strap yourselves in and get ready to rumble! America is in the infancy of its second financial crisis of the 21st century. Two of the largest banks in the US have announced they will terminate all originations of HELOCs until further notice. HELOCs are also known as Home Equity Lines of Credit. Both  JPMorgan Chase  and  Wells Fargo  announced they are no longer accepting applications for new HELOCs. Wells Fargo Spokesperson Tom Goyda said the change went into effect last Friday. Goyda said Wells Fargo is making the change due to uncertainty in the economy. The decision to suspend the origination of new HELOCs reflects careful consideration of current market conditions and the uncertainty around the timing and scope of the anticipated economic recovery. Wells Fargo’s decision will not impact the bank’s existing HELOC customers. Borrowers with existing HELOCs will be

Is Michigan Democrat Christine Greig Racist Or An Entitled Suburbanite?

Image
Is Michigan House Minority Leader Democrat Christine Greig Racist Or Just A Clueless Entitled White Suburbanite? House Minority Leader Democrat Christine Greig I’m starting to believe that Michigan House Leader Democrat Christine Greig is either a closet racist or your typical out of touch suburbanite with a sense of entitlement.  I grew up in the white Detroit suburbs. I have also lived in other metropolitan areas like New York and Miami. So I can say with experience that Metro-Detroit is still one of the most segregated regions in the country. White suburbanites in suburban Wayne and Oakland County stay away from Detroit except to go sporting events and concerts. When they do, they then hightail it back to the lily-white suburbs.  Growing up there, I can tell you that most white people in Detroit’s suburbs are racist. Most of them may not verbalize it or show it in public. Nor will they say it to a black guest in their home. Sure, they’ll be nice. They’ll be polite. Th

Producers found a post “Eddie” posted on Craigslist in a titled “Room Share for Submissive Female.” Eddie wrote: During these hard times, Covid-19 has thrown many in a tailspin. If you are a submissive female and wanting to barter session/playtime once per week in lieu of rent we should talk. Inside Edition Producer Alycia Powers responded to the ad. Eddie reportedly told her he wanted to try out the arrangement first and suggested they meet at a local Days Inn in Long Island.  Rea

Berman said:  Israel’s largest bank, Bank Hapoalim, and its Swiss subsidiary have admitted not only failing to prevent but actively assisting U.S. customers to set up secret accounts, to shelter assets and income, and to evade taxes.  The combined payment approaching $1 billion reflects the magnitude of the tax evasion by the Bank’s U.S. customers.
