Deadbeat Tenant Played Dead To Avoid Paying Rent. Now He’s Sitting In Jail.
A deadbeat tenant in Maine played dead to fool his landlord.
The landlord called the cops and the deadbeat tenant and he was later arrested. Cops discovered the deadbeat was very much alive. They also found Zarins conscious and responsive and not in need of medical assistance. However, police also discovered he had an outstanding warrant.
As a result, Ted Zarins is now residing in Aroostook County Jail near the Canadian border according to Bangor Daily News.
The 28-year-old man had reportedly fallen behind on rent. He played possum for several months when his landlord came to collect. A Fort Kent police officer and a state trooper responded to the man’s apartment after the unidentified landlord phoned authorities.
