Beaumont Hospital Gives Quicken Loans Owner Dan Gilbert Complimentary Drool Cup As He Leaves For Rehab Beaumont Hospital in suburban Detroit has released Quicken Loans owner Dan Gilbert. Gilbert suffered a near-fatal stroke right after Memorial Day. Quicken Loans and Gilbert’s family have given few details about Gilbert’s diagnosis or prognosis since his stroke. Doctors who have not treated Gilbert said  the catheter procedure is indicative of treatment for a severe ischemic stroke. An ischemic stroke is when a large clot blocks the blood supply to the brain. As a result, brain cells begin to die due to lack of oxygen. Quicken Loans CEO Jay Farmer Confirms Quicken Loans Owner Dan Gilbert Has Had A Stroke Quicken Loans owner Dan Gilbert suffered a stroke in the hospital Sunday. As a result, doctors had to immediately perform a catheter-based procedure. Gilbert suffered the stroke while hospitalized for an unrelated issue. Gilbert was moved to the intensive-care unit to recover after the procedure. The catheter-based procedure revealed further details about what sent Gilbert to initially seek medical treatment.
