REALTOR ALERT: Massachusetts Foreclosure Auctions Could Kill You!

Image
WARNING REALTORS! You Are Putting Your Life In Danger By Attending Massachusetts Foreclosure Auctions! Massachusetts foreclosure auctions are potentially deadly and the law changed. Massachusetts does foreclosure auctions at the foot of the driveway of the property in foreclosure. Most people think that by the time auction happens the house is vacant. This is not true. Vacant homes only make up less than 10% of the foreclosed homes that go to public auction. In most cases, the homeowner is still residing in the home and this where it can and does get dangerous. First of all, you're dealing with stressed out and desperate homeowners. Then couple it with a bus full of ignorant real estate agents with delusions of striking it rich. What do you get? Broken bones or gunshot wounds. Potentially even a death. Massachusetts Foreclosure Defense Attorney Glenn Russell told MFI-Miami: I am continually amazed that there has been no serious injury sustained by the forecl...

Select Portfolio Servicing Caves! Walks Away From Foreclosure Battle.

Image
Select Portfolio Servicing Voluntarily Dismisses Foreclosure Case With Prejudice Against MFI-Miami Client MFI-Miami client Eliaquin Ortega scored a decisive victory against Select Portfolio Servicing. Attorney Claudio Cedrez-Pellegrino successfully argued MFI-Miami's findings that led to victory in the case. MFI-Miami found that the MBS Trust (Multiclass Mortgage Pass-Through Certificates Chaseflex Trust Series 2007-M1) did not have legal standing to foreclose. This was the second time that a lender attempted to kick the Ortegas out of their home. The original servicer Chase Home Finance attempted to foreclose in 2008. However, Chase withdrew the case without prejudice in 2011. It appears they also had a legal standing issue and in typical Chase fashion, they washed their hands of it. They dumped it on someone else. The first foreclosure file had a plethora of problems. It would have been impossible for Select Portfolio's lawyers to win a foreclosur...

Mass Exodus Of NYPD And FDNY Fleeing Monroe, New York

Image
NYPD And FDNY Personnel Are Packing Up And Leaving Monroe, New York Many NYPD and FDNY personnel moved their families out of New York City after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Many migrated 70 miles north where they found inexpensive homes and good schools in the Town of Monroe. That was a little over 16 years ago and things have changed in Monroe. Monroe is facing declining home values and high foreclosure rates. The town has become a hotbed of controversy. Residents have also filed a barrage of frivolous lawsuits alleging everything from public corruption and voter fraud. Aging police officers and firefighters have become Empty Nesters. Their kids are off at college or starting families of their own. So why should they stay in Monroe and deal with a house that is upside down? Or deal with the political craziness that has engulfed Monroe for nearly 5 years? Many NYPD and FDNY active duty personnel and retirees are going east to Dutchess County or Putnam County. Some reti...

Reverse Mortgage Foreclosures Face Restrictions In Philadelphia

Image
Seniors Rejoice As Reverse Mortgage Foreclosures Face New Restrictions In The City Of Brotherly Love Unpaid taxes are one of the most common excuses lenders give for initiating reverse mortgage foreclosures. Yet, lenders don’t take into consideration that most counties or major cities allow people to pay their taxes in installments. It also seems like lenders don’t realize payment plans are common in major cities. Especially for seniors with reverse mortgages and people with serious health issues. Unfortunately, most reverse mortgage servicers don’t care about the payment arrangements made by the municipality. Mortgage servicers will use the unpaid portion of the tax bill as an excuse to foreclose. Philadelphia is about to put a stop to this shady practice by mortgage servicers. Philadelphia City Councilwoman Cherelle Parker has introduced a bill that would prevent the spread of reverse mortgage foreclosures in the city. The bill states that a...
